Training
The Wellesley Wings Track & Field Club provides detailed and individualized training plans to prepare athletes to compete to the best of their ability in their events and progress over time.

During the winter, spring, and summer Club Team seasons, members who do not have other major athletic commitments, such as a school team, receive custom training plans.  Training plans account for their events, upcoming competitions, age, training experience, other schedule commitments, and any injury history, and provide detailed information on each part of each workout.  

The late summer and fall present a large gap between track & field competition seasons.  A sustained commitment to building sport-specific fitness is often an important step toward making large improvements the following season.  Club members as well other athletes who are looking to improve their fitness can request a custom training plan through Exercise Science Custom Fitness (https://www.exercisesciencecustomfitness.com/track-field-technique).  Members who received training plans in past years made significant improvements in their following season.  These training plans account for the athlete's events, upcoming season goals, age, training experience, other schedule commitments, and any injury history.  They also provide detailed information on each part of each workout and its purpose.
