Wellesley Youth Track and Field Club - "Wellesley Wings" - USATF Club # 02-173

Mission Statement - Wellesley Wings Track and Field provides event-specific training and coaching to prepare young women (ages 14 and older) to compete successfully in regional and national track & field competitions, and to help each athlete to reach their full potential.

History
- The Wellesley Wings were founded in 2012 to promote track & field among young girls in Wellesley and surrounding towns.  Since its founding, the Club has doubled in size and has become one of the most successful clubs in New England and nationally.

2013 - The Club won 3 medals at the USATF National Youth Championships, and 10 members qualified for the USATF National Junior Olympic Championships, including the members of its 11-12 girls 4x100m Relay, which recorded the fastest time in New England.

2014 - The Club won 7 medals at the USATF National Youth Championships, and 13 members qualified for the USATF National Junior Olympic Championships, including the members of 13-14 girls 4x100m and 4x400m Relays, which were the Regional 1 Junior Olympic Champions (NY, CT, MA, RI, VT, NH, ME).

2015 - The Club was the top scoring team in 11-12, 13-14, and 15-16 girls age groups at the USATF New England Junior Olympic Championship, won 4 medals at the USATF National Youth Championship, and 20 members qualified for the USATF National Junior Olympic Championships, including the members of 13-14 girls 4x100m and 4x400m Relays, which were the Region 1 Junior Olympic Champions (NY, CT, MA, RI, VT, NH, ME).

2016 - The Club was the top scoring team in the 11-12 and 13-14 girls age groups at the USATF New England Junior Olympic Championship, won 3 medals at the USATF National Youth Championship, won 1 medal at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals, and won the Open USATF-NE 4x1600m Relay New England Championship.

2017 - Indoors, the Club came in second in the Open USATF-New England Indoor Championships including post-collegiate clubs and ran the fastest high school 4x200m relay time in Massachusetts.  Outdoors, the Club was the top scoring team in the 15-16 girls age group at the USATF- NE Junior Olympic Championship, won 3 medals at the USATF National Youth Championship, and won the USATF-NE Relay Championship.  Between the two seasons, the Club recorded 12 top-3 finishes at State and New England High School Championships, and 8 athletes qualified for New Balance Nationals.
